“I'm a Multidisciplinary Designer, currently working in Marketing and Communication at Vivid Foods. In my free time you can find me sketching for @missebibs, cooking veggies, reading and taking analogue photos”.

“Design must create impact by creating meaningful holistic solutions and experiences.

I firmly believe that stepping out of our comfort zone is crucial for the learning experience. Additionally, design research, collaboration and interdisciplinary knowledge should be nurtured. They are essential mottos for the success of any project.”

Bárbara was born in 1996 in Porto, Portugal. She´s a native Portuguese speaker, and fluent in English, trying not to forget how to speak Italian, and currently learning Deutsch.

Bárbara’s academic path allowed her to have an overall holistic vision of Design. She started at 15yo learning about Audiovisual, Graphic Design, Artistic Production and Product Design at Escola Artística de Soares dos Reis (Porto, PT) and studied photography w/ Hugo Lima, aka official photographer of NOS Primavera Sound and Paredes de Coura Festival.

The most fulfilling years so far were during her BA and MA in Design at the University of AveiroDuring those years she did some design and organised some events for Nucleus of Design Students, was part of Erasmus Student Network Aveiro, have done an exchange semester at Politecnico di Milano (Milan, IT), worked as a Junior Designer for Aveiro Smart Business, created a bidimensional alter ego, aka @missebibs, and spent the first year of her MA studying Integrated Design at Köln International School of Design (Köln, DE), where she has also done a Service Design course at Service Design Network. Bárbara finished her MA at the end of 2020 with a final thesis project about the relationship between design with food waste, social innovation and brand strategy, evaluated with 20/20. Won several prizes including Ecotrophelia and an honourable mention, wrote some academic articles and participated in an intensive 2-month international startup development in Munich (DE).

In 2021, she had the pleasure to work as a graphic designer at Atelier Nunes e Pã (Porto, PT) developing graphic design, iconography, signage design and illustration content, especially for projects of enhancement of the Portuguese heritage, while she was studying Design Thinking and UX at The Interaction Design Foundation. After working as a freelancer for several clients, she decided to fly to London for an Inov Contacto experience as Head of Design at Insurtech Insights, HRTechX, CFO Insights and Setsales, being responsible for all the design content for events in London, Copenhagen, and New York, webinars, campaigns, presentations, reports, social media and website.

Currently, she is fulfilling a long-held aspiration at Vivid Foods, engaging in work she has desired since completing her studies—immersing herself in the food industry. Her primary focus is leveraging design as a tool to address essential human needs, prioritizing them over mere wants. Additionally, she works closely with Vivid Farms, contributing to their regenerative agriculture approach.
